Under the Hood

Reliable at every interval

Background timers, keepalive engine, per-site memory — all covered.

Background timer

Uses chrome.alarms API for intervals ≥60s. Survives popup close, tab switch, and browser idle state.

Keepalive engine

For intervals under 60s, uses an optimized setInterval with keepalive alarm to prevent service worker shutdown.

Per-site storage

Last used interval saved per hostname via chrome.storage. Returns to your preferred setting automatically.

Auto-stop on close

Listens to chrome.tabs.onRemoved. When you close a tab, its timer and badge are cleaned up instantly.

Keyboard toggle

Alt+Shift+R starts or stops the timer without opening the popup. Works on any tab.

Under 50 KB

No frameworks, no external scripts, no network requests. Manifest V3 service worker. Pure vanilla JavaScript.
